Silkwood Lane Renovation

The opportunity
This renovation on Silkwood Lane was all about refined detail and a warm, light coastal feel that carries through the whole home. The brief was to refresh and elevate the interior while retaining the home's original character.
The standout feature is the ensuite: full-height handmade-look tiling, a herringbone-tiled shower floor, twin brass showerheads, frameless glass, a floating timber vanity, wall-mounted brass tapware, and a large skylight that floods the space with natural light.
Beyond the ensuite, the wider renovation is tied together by the interior detailing: vertical panelled walls, decorative trims, timber windows and French doors, brass hardware and fittings, light timber flooring and a built-in window seat, all working together to give the home a fresh, refined coastal character.

What we did
The focus throughout was achieving a quality finish. Rather than any single feature standing alone, we carried the materials, colours and detailing consistently through the ensuite, bedrooms, living spaces and kitchen so the whole home reads as one considered space.
That meant careful joinery and trim work: vertical wall panelling and detailed timber mouldings, a custom built-in window seat, timber windows, French doors and servery windows, and consistent brass hardware and lighting from room to room.
Light timber flooring and warm, neutral finishes run throughout, with plenty of natural light and a strong indoor-outdoor connection. Outside, the traditional weatherboards and crisp timber detailing tie the home's exterior back to its coastal character.
The outcome
The result is a home that feels warm, light and full of character. The ensuite is a genuine centrepiece, and the detailing that carries through every room is what makes the renovation feel complete rather than piecemeal.
It is a smaller project than a full reclad, but it shows the same care: get the finishing right, keep the details consistent, and let quality craftsmanship do the talking.
Key standouts include the handmade tiled ensuite, twin brass showers beneath the skylight, the floating timber vanity, the custom window seat, and the brass hardware and lighting carried consistently throughout.
